The replenishment solution impacts sales through two different channels. One channel is the direct channel. Proper replenishment almost eliminates shortages, and fewer shortages translate directly to more sales. The second channel of impact, which we have come to realize is as big as the first, is due to the fact that proper replenishment reduces the inventories of slow movers dramatically. As a result, sales increase due to the fact that having fewer slow movers frees up more of the shelf space and also frees up the attention of the sales personnel for the faster movers.
